Are Your Patients Too Sensitive? Discussing, Handling, & Addressing Oral Hypersensitivity / Pain Management with Today’s Patients

Presented by Dr. William Paveletz (3 CE Credits)

Sponsored by VOCO THE DENTALISTS

Course Description: Is it safe to say if you work in a dental office, you have probably heard a patient complain about hypersensitivity at least once a day? Sensitivity brought about by hot/cold beverages or foods, sweets, or even brushing certain areas of their dentition. Sometimes the patient cannot explain what caused the sensitivity in the first place! Dentists and hygienists tend to treat with typical established procedures which deliver minimal results, or they can offer state-of-the-art formulated products achieving remarkable results. This course discusses Nano/Ormocer technologies as they relate to today’s preventative desensitizers, tooth creams, and fluoridation procedures used in combating patient’s hypersensitive complaints and symptoms.

Course Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of groundbreaking results that contribute to the evidence for application of varnish with chemotherapeutic fluoride treatment.
  • Attendees will be educated about the method of applying Ormocer containing desensitizing treatments and Nano-hydroxy filled tooth creams.
  • Understand how to discuss options with your patient and how to better manage their sensitivity and pain issues that occur when they neglect their oral health.
  • Understand the best approach to correctly bill for these procedures & incorporate these hygiene procedures to increase profitability in the office.

OSHA Update

Presented by Jamelle Rucker (3 CE Credits)

Course Description: Individuals who work in a dental office will learn about the requirements of OSHA regulations that impact a dental practice, such as hazard communication, radiation safety, handling toxic or hazardous substances, electrical safety, fire protection, and exit routes. This course is designed to make your workplace safer.

Objective: You will understand all applicable OSHA and safety regulations including the Hazard Communication Standard, Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and subparts of the OSH Act as they apply to your dental facility. In addition, the course will cover all aspects of the CDC Infection control Guidelines for Dentistry.

True Colors: Keys to Personal Awareness & Success

Presented by Tracey Glenn (4 CE Credits)

Course Description: Patient care demands alone can be stressful and frustrating for healthcare providers. Combine these challenges with staff conflicts, personality clashes, and ineffective communication and it becomes even harder to deliver excellence. The True Colors Personal Awareness & Success workshop improves teamwork, cooperation, employee relationships and effective communication. This leads to increased satisfaction in the workplace and more compassionate, quality patient care.
