Good afternoon and happy Friday! Looks like it’s going to be another rainy weekend and no Savannah Bananas for anybody! I’ve had a few questions come up this week and just thought I would research and answer them.
Tariffs. I reached out to I had a merchandise and this is what he said.
Fwd: We keep watching this but it’s a moving target. Unfortunately, we don’t know the precise country each product is imported from (because we are not the importer of record for most products) and we also don’t know the actual value of the products at the port of entry. We do believe local anesthetics may be a category that sees the largest tariffs/price increases. Much of that is sourced from Canada.
After a chat with him, basically it boils down to you might want to stock up a little bit on anesthetic. He requested (hopefully) that not everyone goes crazy because it could wipe us out. However, buying an extra case of whatever you use might be a good option as we don’t expect this to linger on.
Secondly, I’ve already been getting quite a few questions about DS world Which is in Las Vegas this year from September 25 through the 27th. They sent an email this week stating that early registration is open. Please do not register early, as around June we will get codes and vouchers for even better discounted rates. They have announced the hotel is at the MGM Grand, but that room block is not open yet. I will keep everybody posted when that opens up.
Moving on, thanks for everyone that came out to tech night last night in Cape Girardeau. I asked Kavo to come up with some pretty aggressive specials and they’ve agreed to honor that for everybody through the end of our fiscal year which ends April 25. Find those here.
Next, Vince has been doing amazing education lately regarding to cad/cam and advanced procedures. His next event goes over a lot of hot topics that people are starting to do. You can find information on that here for next Thursday, April 10th.
Finally, I know hygienists are always looking for CE credits. Hu Friedy has a good one virtually next week on implant maintenance. If you’d like to forward this on to your hygiene department, you can find that information here.
Have a wonderful weekend and try to not float away!
By the way, if you’re a young Dentist in the greater St. Louis Dental Society, I’m sponsoring topgolf next Thursday and I look forward to seeing you there!
Thanks!
Matt
