Overview:

Dental implants require ongoing care and maintenance. This webinar will explore specialized hand and power instruments, powders, and accessories, along with proper oral hygiene techniques to effectively preserve various implant restorations. Particular attention will be given to cases involving periodontal issues, such as gingival recession, lack of keratinized mucosa, and exposed implant threads, which can complicate maintenance. Implementing these evidence-based protocols will enhance patient homecare and elevate your dental hygiene practice.

Intended Audience:

  • Dentists
  • Dental Hygienists
  • Dental Assistants
  • Dental Educators
  • Dental Students
  • Dental Hygiene Students
  • Dental Assisting Students
  • Office Managers

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Diagnose peri-implant conditions using the latest classification systems.
  • Describe emerging etiologies for peri-implant disease.
  • Identify local, systemic, and environmental risk factors leading to implant failure.
  • Confidently maintain dental implants using appropriate instruments, powders, accessories, and hygiene regimens.
