SUMMARY:Beneath the Surface: Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Biofilm on Implants
DESCRIPTION:Details\nLive CE Webinar | Monday\, July 28\, 2025 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT\n1 CE Credit* | Complimentary Registration \nCourse Overview\nPseudomonas aeruginosa is a resilient\, biofilm-forming\, opportunistic pathogen increasingly implicated in dental implant failure. Its adaptability\, resistance to antibiotics\, and persistence in dysbiotic environments make it a serious threat in both acute and chronic infections. \nThis webinar will explore: \n\nHow P. aeruginosa develops biofilms and resists antimicrobial treatments\nIts role in peri-implant inflammation and bone loss\nSynergistic interactions with other oral pathogens\nEvidence-based prevention and novel antimicrobial approaches\n\nLearning Objectives:\n\nDescribe the biological and pathogenic characteristics of P. aeruginosa\nIllustrate its processes of biofilm development\, resistance\, and immune evasion\nEvaluate its clinical significance in peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis\nApply current and emerging strategies to manage P. aeruginosa-related implant complications\n\nSpeaker\nAnne O. Rice\, RDH\, BS\, FAAOSH\, CDP\nAnne is a distinguished clinical dental hygienist\, writer\, and consultant. She is a Fellow with the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH)\, a certified dementia practitioner\, and a longevity specialist with the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation. Anne brings experience from institutions like Weill Cornell Medical Center and Florida Atlantic College Center for Brain Health\, and she serves on RDH Magazine’s editorial advisory board. \nFor more info and to register\, visit here\n*Dental Learning is an approved AGD PACE and California State Dental Board Provider of dental continuing education. \n
